Ōhiwa Harbour is one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most unspoiled estuaries. It has long been valued for its natural beauty, wildlife and kaimoana (sea food), recreational activities, and its fascinating history and heritage. The harbour is a very special taonga. It is the jewel in the crown of the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

 

This website was created by the seven Ōhiwa Harbour Strategy partners: Te Ūpokorehe, Ngāti Awa, Whakatōhea, Te Waimana, Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Ōpōtiki and Whakatāne District Councils.
